The Wellington Leader August 22, 1963

Mrs. J. H. Walters, who made her home here for a number of years before moving to Amarillo about ten years ago, died in Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver, Colorado at noon Sunday, August 10.

Mrs. Walters had gone to that city about ten days earlier to be with a daughter.

Mrs. Walters was the former Annie Mae Corby and was born July 6, 1897 in Jefferson County, Oklahoma. She and Mr. Walters were married at Ryan, Oklahoma, June 6, 1917 and lived there until coming to Collingsworth County in 1918.

She and Mr. Walters farmed in the Kelley community for a number of years before moving to Wellington.

Mrs. Walters became a member of the Baptist Church early in life.

Her husband preceded here in death in 1952.

Survivors are three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Del Collins of Lake Jackson, Mrs. Morris Haskell of Denver, Mrs. Derryberry of Beaumont, Thomas J. Walters of Amarillo, and Boyce Walters of Pasco, Washington.

Two brothers, three sisters and 16 grandchildren also survive.
