Teresa Mary Madl, known from her youth as Mollie--was born at Warrenton, Missouri on May 31, 1865; one of ten children of Peter Schoenhofer and Teresa Meidel Schoenhofer. When Mollie was about six months old her parents and family travelled by Covered Wagon to Eudora. Kansas, where they purchased a farm, which until then had been occupied by Indians. On this trip Mollie's mother carried, concealed in her hair, the money thay had saved for the purchase, for in those days both missouri and Kansas were still partly inhabited by Indians and infested by bandits.
Mollie married John Madl at a Nuptial Mass in Holy Family, Church, Eudora on October 30, 1882.
This was a double-wedding, as Mollie's sister Mary was joined in holy wedlock with Frank Vitt at the same ceremony. (All four lived to celebrate their Golden Wedding Jubilee.)
To this union were born eleven children-- nine at Eudora and two at St. Paul: Frank Joseph, September 3,1883; Emma Amelia, Aug 27,1885; Elizabeth Antonia, March 2, 1888; John Peter, February 2, 1890; William Anthony, March 18, 1892; Clara Teresa, July 19,1895; Herbert Louis, October 23, 1897; George Ferdinand, February 7, 1900; Ernest Clarence, August 14,1902; Henry Edward, May 3, 1906; Louis Edward, October 12, 1908.

Rev. Ferdinand Madl, C.P. celebrated the Solemn Requiem Mass on Jan 20 th; Rev. Kevin Cunningham, C.P. delivered the funeral sermon
