CONCORDIA — The funeral for Sister Mary Ferdinand Giersch, 77, who died April 26 at St. Joseph's convent, Concordia, was held Friday at the Mother House chapel, Concordia.
Sister Ferdinand, who was superintendent of St. John's hospital, Salina, for a number of years, retired about a year ago. Since then she had lived at the convent. She had been ill several months.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. 0. M. Johnson, Salina, and Mrs. Agnes Nieschburg, Salina; and a brother, Andrew Giersch, Boulder, Colo.
