Catlin, Ill. - Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Catlin Church of Christ for Wayne Hickman, 79, of 123 Short in Catlin. He died of natural causes Friday (Dec. 18, 1981) at his home. Frank Bush will officiate, and burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery west of Catlin. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Carrington Funeral Home in Fairmount. Hickman was an electrical engineering graduate of the University of Illinois. He worked at Commonwealth Edison in Joliet, retiring in 1967. He was a pioneer in the field of rural electricity. Hickman was born Sept. 25, 1902, in Catlin Township, the son of George and Sadie Hopper Hickman. On June 12, 1932, in Catlin, he married Miriam Gilkison, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Ann Hickman of Catlin; and a granddaughter, Susan Lynn Hickman of Oklahoma.
