OWENSBORO MESSENGER INQUIRER OBITUARY – 04/02/1988
Marion L. Mattingly, 87, of 9718 Kentucky 144, Philpot, died Friday, April 1, 1988, at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Daviess County, was a mower driver for the Kentucky Highway Department before he retired and was a member of St. William Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Lillie Aud Mattingly; three sons, Charles, John W. & Richard Eugene Mattingly, all of Knottsville; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Doris) Fulkerson of Knottsville and Sister Margaret Mary Mattingly CP, of Owensboro; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Firman Mattingly; and a sister, Henrietta Haynes, both of Knottsville; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at St. William Catholic Church, Knottsville. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation after noon Sunday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday.
