Born in 1778, the grandson of immigrants, George was the first child, of eight, born to Oliver Heavenhill (nee Ulrich Himmelberger) and Elizabeth Tesch. On 12 MAR 1799 he married Jane McHatton. They had five children: Cyrus B., Newton, Finette Matilda, Caroline E., and Marshall, all probably born in Kentucky. Jane died in 1812.

When George married Sarah, 28 Jun, 1813, he was 35, she was only 21, and there were already five children in the household between the ages of 2 and 7. They will have 7 more children in the next 15 years: Minerva, Hiram Bertram, Fielding, Oliver, Clark, Jane H., and William, all born in Kentucky. George's first-born child, Cyrus, is 21 years older than the youngest, William. George died in Illinois (1838) at age 60. His youngest child was 11.

George is the older brother of the distiller, William Heavenhill.

She was born 5 January 1792 in Washington County, Kentucky, and died 3 January 1872 in Kendall County, Illinois.
