Mrs. Josie Cathern Dye Keen, age 86, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away Sunday (January 17, 2010) in a Roanoke area hospital. Born November 15, 1923 in Chattary, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Chester Burk and Sadie Mae Perkins Dye. She had resided in the Roanoke area since 1968 and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Parson Keen, one son, Paul Keen, one daughter, Margaret Keen, three brothers, three sisters, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include six daughters, Jessi Eure and husband, Keith of Richlands, Mayzelle Sykes, Shirley Keen, and Carrie Dell Keen all of Roanoke, Loretta Withrow of Rocky Mount, and Wilma Keen of Swords Creek; four sons, Jerry Keen and wife, Pauline of Honaker, Donny Keen and wife, Ann of Shawsville, Wiley Keen of Montvale, and Junior Keen of Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Faye Keen of Swords Creek; three brothers, Don Dye, Sidney Dye, and Worley Dye all of Swords Creek; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Tommy Dye and Rev. Delmer Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday, where an evening service will be conducted both evenings at 7:00PM
