FRONTENAC, KS - Mildred Faye Colles, 85, of Frontenac, Kansas, died at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Sunset Manor Nursing Center, Frontenac, Kansas.

She was born May 20, 1918, at Litchfield, Kansas, to Orval and Mary (Price) Davidson.

She attended area schools.

On Aug. 1, 1938, she married William Colles at Pittsburg, Kansas. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 2000.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at Pittsburg, where she belonged to the Altar Society. She also belonged to the Daughters of Isabella, Baker Grange, and was president 16 times of Pleasant Prairie Extension Unit.

She is survived by a son, William R. Colles of Paola, KS; four brothers, Lyle and Galen Davidson, both of Pittsburg, KS; Orval Davidson Jr. of Cherokee, KS, and Oliver Davidson of Ringo, KS; three sisters Gretchen Sells of Frontenac, KS, Velda Pitts of Stockton, MO, and Mary Swartz of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael Colles and infant son John David; two sisters, Doris Morris and Elfie Spragg; and a brother, Wayne Davidson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 5, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pittsburg, KS, with Fr. Thomas Stroot as celebrant. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery at Pittsburg, Kansas.

Arrangements and services are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg, KS.
