Former Chickasaw resident Henry J. Gast, 95, died at 2 a.m. at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater. He had been seriously ill for a week. Born February 16, 1883, he was the son of Henry and Mary Schwieterman Gast. Mr. Gast was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and a half-brother. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, and was a retired employee of National Cash Register Co., Dayton. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. May 20 at Precious Blood Church officiated by Rev. Cletus Stang. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
