Alexander Walker applied for his 100 acres land January 7, 1797 came from Franklin County, Pa. Alexander Walker was married to Margaret born 1770 died 1818 were married in Franklin County before they came to Armstrong County Pa, his brother Samuel Walker and his wife Margaret Lytle married before the came to Armstrong County 300 acres the same.

Alexander Walker built his grist mill in 1805 on Crooked Creek the 5th bend from the Allegheny River. Brother Samuel Walker grew the first wheat in this area. His land was sold in 1851. The Joseph Claypoole family came to Walker grist mill. The John Ross Family built a 2nd grist mill on Crooked Creek later. The old stone house by John Ross was built in 1809 and is still standing. It now being restored in 2023 .Years ago a wooden bridge was built across Crooked Creek near Rosston Pa. It was washed out by the high water and never replaced.
The Crooked Creek Presbyterian Church was started in 1825 called a construct meeting house but not complete it. Summer of 1834 Dr. Joseph Painter came through and notice
a strucktor was wall, and cattle used if for a shelter from the winds. Following him was Rev Levi M Graves, William College, GK Scott, and Perrin Baker, Rev J P Calhoun was pastor 1884. A 2nd log house followed and it was replaced by a frame in 1869. It remains today Pastor Rev J Ash.
