William Bowen was born in Warren Co. Ohio on 23 March 1842 and died in Madison Township 10 Nov. 1917.
He married Mary Kenworthy 12 Aug 1862 in Highland County Ohio. She died 10 Aug 1880. Two daughters and 5 sons were born. Alma B May of Noble, IL., Charles P. Bowen of Westhope ND., Clint A. Bowen , John W. Bowen and Silas E. Bowen all of Richland Co. IL.
One son and one infant daughter preceded him.
He married second, Julia A. Fishel in Richland Co. on 20 Sept 1883.
One daughter and 5 sons were born. Harry D. Bowen, Dora E. Bowen, Mattie E. Bowen, Clyde P. Bowen and Clarence E. Bowen, all of whom together with wife Julia survive.
One son preceded.
He enlisted in Co. B 88th Ohio Inf. on 7 Nov. 1863 and served until the close of the Civil war.
He came to Il. in the fall of 1865 and to Decker Township in 1884 where he lived.
