A very sad funeral and burial took place at Leaksville on Thursday before the second Sunday in this month occasioned by the death of Mrs. Sallie Shenk, of Luray, formerly Miss Sallie Dovel, daughter of Mr. Peter Dovel of Leaksville. A little babe of but a few days old proceeded her to the grave about one week.
She was married to Mr. W. W. Shenk in December 1891 and the marriage was a very happy one. But death stepped in and suddenly snatched away the kind wife who had shared the trials of her husband but a little more than twelve months. Her last hours were filled with a hope that was radiant and joyful.
