Carl Pendleton was the son of Creed H. and Mary Ellen Goodman Pendleton. He was born on the family homestead on Cottonwood. After service in France, during World War I, he was deputy assessor and then was elected County Clerk of Lake County. He held this office for 18 years, resigning to become the head of Lake Couty Title & Insurace Agency, at Lakeview. He continued in this title business until his death on December 18, 1960. Carl was married to Grace A. Zerba of Athena, Oregon on June 12, 1925. They were the parents of a son, Jack born Nov. 1, 1926.
