Martha was the daughter of Ole Olsen Strande and Ingeborg Marie Kjok.

She had seven siblings: Martha, Oscar, Anna, Minnie, Clara, Ida, and Norman.

Mathilda married Gabriel Martinius Andreasen Holte on February 1, 1899.

They were the parents of seven children: Arthur Thomas, Stella, Ole, Gladys Myrtle, Clara Margaret, Alf Spencer, and Norman Severt.

Martha Holte 1878-1965

Mrs. Mathilda Holte, a resident of Bagley, died very suddenly at the home of her daughter at Windom, Minnesota on January 2. The daughter is Mrs. Elmer Anderson.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Nelson, Mrs. Holte was born May 22, 1878, at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and was 86 years old.
Her parents moved to Wittenberg, Wisconsin, when she was three years old and it was there that she was baptized into the Lutheran faith. She was married to Gabriel Holte on October 29, 1893, and on February 1, 1899, they moved to Eddy Township and established a homestead. They continued to work the farm until 1935, the year that Mr. Holte passed away. Mrs. Holte continued to live on the farm until 1945 and then moved to Bagley, where she has lived since. She was a charter member of Concordia Lutheran Church and was active in its organizations.
Survivors include sons, Arthur, Ole and Alf of Clearbrook and Norman of Mankato, Minnesota; and daughters, Mrs. Gus Uppham (Stella) of Minneapolis; Mrs. Elmer H. Anderson (Gladys) of Windom, Minnesota; Mrs. Howard West (Clara) of Longview, Washington; a brother, Norman Nelson of Wittenberg, Wisconsin; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Elliot of Appleton, Wisconsin; and Mrs Clara Fayers of Chicago.
Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 6, at 2 p.m. in Concordia Lutheran Church of Eddy Township with Pastor G.F. Guldberg officiating. Burial will be made in the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley.
