William Ezra "Willie" was born to James Jonathan and Hannah Jane Easton Stanley at Sloan, Iowa. He attended schools in Iowa and Nebraska. He married Mae Miller, July 3, 1912, in Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed in Nebraska before moving to the Jerome area in 1936. He worked as a farm laborer and was also a greens keeper at the Jerome Country Club. In later years he was employed by the Parks Department in the city of Jerome. He retired in 1966. He died at St. Benedict's Long term Care Unit after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include his wife of Jerome; one son, Everette Stanley of Portland, Ore.: two brothers, Newell Stanley of Dixon, Neb.; and Harry Stanley of Vallejo, Calif.; and four sisters, Pearl Scott of Wakefield, Neb.; Vera Hinds of Ponca, Neb.; Bernice Lee of Merced, Calif.; and Mildred Haines of Greenwood, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons: James A and Clinton W.
