Bernice was born Dec. 20, 1899 in Monona, Iowa to James Jonathan and Hannah Jane (Easton) Stanley. Bernice married Jesse Everett Carter June 12, 1920. they had two children: Daryle Merlin and Doris Marie. Jesse Carter died 27 Jan 1968 in Merced, California. On 12 Jun 1970 in Reno, Nevada Bernice married William E Lee.

Lee, Bernice L.; of Sylvan Lake, formerly of Merced, California; December 10, 1990; age 90; dear mother of Mrs. Doris Ecker; dear grandmother of Richard, Scott and Darelyn; dear sister of Harry Stanley and Mrs. Mildred Stigen; also survived by nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Lee was a retired beautician. Private funeral services will be held at white chapel Cemetery, Long Lake at Crooks Road, Troy, Wednesday 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by Godhardt-tomlinson Funeral Home, Keego Harbor. (682-0200)
