Mary Elizabeth Baker was born October 4, 1916 and left this life January 11, 2010 at the age of 93 years. Elizabeth was born in Waco, Texas the first child of Virgie Lee Satterwhite Carpenter and Doyle Green Carpenter. While growing up she lived in Waco, Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, Des Moines, Iowa, Fargo, North Dakota and Oklahoma City. She attended Classen High School and after graduation attended Gulf Park, in Gulf Port, Mississippi for one year and then OU for one semester before moving to Washington, DC where she worked for 3 years. After moving back to Oklahoma City, she married Russell A. Baker on January 11, 1947. To this union 2 children were born, Nancy Sheral and James Randolph. Elizabeth worked with her father and husband in the Triple AAA Root Beer Co. for many years until it was sold. She is a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a member of the Three C's Sunday School Class. It was in the Sunday School Class that she met her good friends that she had lunch with as well as many other adventures. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gail Carpenter and her husband, Russell Baker. She leaves behind 2 children, a daughter Nancy Lisle and husband Bobby of Putnam, OK, a son James R. (Randy) Baker and wife Alice of Oklahoma City, five grandchildren; Jennifer Brashear and husband Robert of Lubbock Texas, Tiffany Ware and husband Wayne of Dickinson, Texas, Trevor Lisle and wife Genevieve of Thomas, Oklahoma, Stephen Baker and Matthew Baker of Oklahoma City. She also leaves behind 3 great-grandchildren, Ellyn and Lauren Brashear and McCartney Lisle. The family would like to thank the caring staff of The Inn at The Fountains of Canterbury, Grace Living Center of Bethany, OK and Good Shepherd Hospice. Services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 14, 2010 in the Guardian West Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
