R. Kenneth Holtzman, 67, of Luray died Feb. 27,. 1993, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Mr. Holtzman was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Shenandoah County and was a son of the late J. Frederick and Mary Cassell Ring Holtzman.

He was an Army veteran and served in Germany in 1961. He attended the University of Virginia and Madison College, now James Madison University.

Mr. Holtzman worked for Virginia Oak Tannery, the U.S. Postal Service and the Page County Sheriffs Department before moving to Richmond in 1979. He was an apartment building manager in Richmond until returning to Luray last August after being disabled by chronic lung disease.

Surviving are a foster son, James McRae of Richmond; a brother, Robert Reynard of Florida; a sister, Dorothy Lloyd of Fort Valley and three other sisters.

A private graveside service was conducted Sunday afternoon by the Rev. Frederick Trumbore at Beahm's Chapel Cemetery, east of Luray.
