Livingston--William A. Karnes, 70, Livingston area rancher, died Monday in a Livingston hospital after a long illness. Mr. Karnes was born Oct 21,1895, near Emigrant. He married Olive Tuggle Feb 10, 1919. They ranched near Emigrant, 42 miles south of Livingston. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Albert and Harold, both of Emigrant; three daughters, Mrs. Margery Duarte of Pacerville, Calif., Mrs. Doris Hoots of Willow Creek, and Mrs. Hazel Payne of Emigrant; a brother, Ira Karnes of Missoula; a sister, Mrs. Olive Foley of San Mateo, Calif.; fourteen grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services from Franzen chapel. Burial in Emigrant cemetery. Billings Gazette (MT), 28 Dec 1965
