ALGER - Perry A. Miller, 81, died at 12:30 a.m. today in Lima Memorial Hospital, following a seven-hour illness.
Born Aug. 20, 1877 in Auglaize County he was a son of Lewis and Suzanna (Laer) Miller. He had lived his entire life in Alger and vicinity.
He married Della (Gossard) who died in 1949.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Scott of Alger; two brothers, Melvin of Alger and Lawrence of Lima; four sisters, Mrs. Ina Newland and Mrs. Minnie Rankin of Alger; Mrs. Mary Conkle of St. Marys, and Mrs. Addie Danner of Kenton.
He was treasurer of Alger for the past 20 years and was a member of the First Methodist Church here.
Services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Central Methodist Church with Rev. David Bowden officiating, and Rev. Eugene Winnans assisting.
Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery near Alger.
Friends may call at the Hanson Funeral Home in Alger where friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
