Melvin Miller

ALGER - Melvin Miller, of Alger, died at 5 p.m. Friday in Lima Memorial Hospital following a two-week illness. He was 80.

Mr. Miller was born in Auglaize County, Oct. 10, 1885, a son of the late Lewis and Susana Leir Miller. His wife, Mrs. Ethel Sower Miller, survives at home.

He was a member of Central Methodist Church, Alger.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Mrs. May Dodds, 410 McPheron, Mrs. Myrtle Barry, Fort Shawnee, and Mrs. Walter (Martha) Hughes, Alger; sons, Mark of Alger, Marvin of Harrod, and Milo, 346 Ertel; sisters, Mrs. William Newland, Mrs. Mary Conkle and Mrs. Minnie Rankins, all of Alger, and Mrs. Addie Danner, Kenton; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hanson Funeral Home, Alger. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
