The daughter of Clarence and Bertha Buskirk Etchison, and resided in Summitville for the past 62 years.

Mary had worked at Fairmount Furniture and the Indiana Box Factory for several years. She was a longtime member of the Summitville Christian Church and the Christian Women?s Fellowship. She had served on the Summitville Town Board.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was in the loving care and nurturing of her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lover of God's creation and enjoyed the outdoors, caring for her flower garden and was very fond of birds.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy (John) Ladd, Connie Fernung and Peggy (Jay) Shaffer, all of Summitville; two sons, Robert (Jeanie) Barnhart of Greentown, and Gary (Becky) Barnhart of Summitville; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Robert Barnhart in 1986; a daughter, Patricia Ann Ferguson in 1994; twin brothers, Albert and Hubert Etchison; brothers, Jim Treadway and Marvin Etchison; and sisters, Eva Mae Goodwin and Helen DeVine.
