Lancaster - Hugh Leslie Taylor, 68, a farmer and merchant of Hopewell community, died in a local hospital after a long illness.
Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late James and Minnie Knight Taylor.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beulah Mae Usher Taylor; 3 daughters, Mrs. Ernest Hinson and Mrs. Ray Culp, both of Lancaster, and Mrs. Koger Hunter of Kershaw; 3 sons Bruce Taylor, Tommy Taylor and Hugh Taylor Jr., all of Lancaster; 5 sisters, Mrs. Lee Walters, Miss Miranda Taylor, Mrs. Arthur Walters, Mrs. M.C. Taylor and Mrs. Edgar Barr all of Lancaster; 2 brothers, H.C. Taylor of Lancaster and T.L. Taylor of Taylors, and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 PM at Hopewell Methodist church by Re. J.S. Barrett, Rev Clyde Runion, Rev. James Alewine and Rev. Glenn Smith. Burial with Masonic rites will be in the church cemetery.
