Mary was the daughter of John and Mary Beavers Finley; she married James Miller on 25 September 1805 in Roane County, Tennessee.
From History of Illinois 1883, P. 769, History of Greene County:
"In 1866, the Walnut Grove church and congregation having increased in numbers and benevolence, they purchased of Mrs. Mary Miller five acres of ground at $100 per acre, and erected thereon the well arranged and comfortable buildings known as the parsonage, the plans and specifications being furnished by Rev. J. R. Armstrong, who was the first minister to occupy the new church home."

In 1996, her stone was permanently moved from Robards Cemetery to Oakwood Cemetery in Greenfield, IL.

Gravesite Details

Mary's original site of burial in Robards Cemetery along with her husband James Miller was in deplorable condition in a pig sty. Their stones were removed, cleaned and placed into concrete in the Oakwood Cemetery with the permission of the cemetery.
