1st Lt Frankart was the pilot of an F51D night fighter assigned to the 39th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Group. Frankhart's aircraft, during a night combat mission on November 3, 1951, crashed into the entrance of a railroad tunnel near Hwadong N. Korea. His remains were not recovered. He was awarded the Air Medal & Purple Heart. Frankart's name was inscribed on the Courts of the Missing.
