Edwin "Georgie" H. Cribb, 70, of Waskish, Minn., died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the Fairview Riverside Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

A memorial service will be Monday, July 9, 2001, at 2 p.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Waskish. Officiating will be the Rev. Vernon Nelson. Burial, under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home, will follow in Fairview Cemetery of Kelliher, Minn.

Mr. Cribb was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Georgetown, a son of the late Ernest and Ethel Altman Cribb Sr. He attended Winyah High school until he moved to Kelliher in 1948 and attended school there. He worked for the Kelliher Telephone Company during school and after until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950. He married Marguerite Ann Beck in Kelliher on Feb. 20, 1951, and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1952. They moved to Minneapolis in 1954 and then to Bloomington in 1958. He worked for Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis for 36 years as a tool and die maker until his retirement in 1986.

On Jan. 1, 1987, he moved back to northern Minnesota where they made their home in Waskish. He was on the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Council. He took care of different cabins on Arbor Ridge.

Surviving are his son, Robert Cribb of Kelliher; his daughter, Georgieann Mortenson of Shotley, Minn.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and three sisters, Bette "Sistah" Aune of Shotley, Ethelyn "Flynny" LaPort of Waskish, and Margaret "Boggy" Rise of Kelliher.

He was predeceased by his wife, M. Ann Cribb, on Jan. 1, 1999, and a brother, Ernest Cribb Jr.
