REEVES
Bert Reeves, son of T. David and Iva J. Reeves, was born in Lucas County, on Sept. 28, 1900, and passed away on Feb. 16, 1975, at the Decatur County Hospital at Leon, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 18 days.
He was married to Olive Blanche Burgett on Dec. 18, 1926, and to this union one daughter was born, Geraldine Lee.
He was a life-long resident of Lucas, a carpenter by trade, and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the First Baptist Church at Chariton.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche of Derby; one daughter, Geraldine Lee Tait and husband, Hubert of Humeston; two grandsons, Richard and Randy Tait and one granddaughter, Sharon Susan Renee Tait; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Perkins of Chariton; Mrs. Clell (Nellie) Downard of Russell; Mrs. Claude (Hazel) Davidson of Boise, Idaho; and Mrs. Roy (Ruth) Lovell of Elizabeth, Colorado; two brothers, John W. Reeves and wife Dorothy of Milo; and Charles Reeves and wife Dorothy of Burlington; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Duane Houston at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
