THEODORE D. REEVES
Theodore D. Reeves, son of Charles and Mary Reeves, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, June 2, 1878, and died at his home near Millerton, Iowa, Dec. 9, 1942, at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 7 days.
He was united in marriage to Iva J. Dovenspike on July 5, 1899. To this union seven children were born, all surviving. They are: Bert, John and Charles Reeves, Mrs. Hazel Davidson and Mrs. Dorothy Perkins, all of Chariton; Mrs. Nellie Downard, of Russell; and Mrs. Ruth Lovell, of Runnells, Ia. There are also 23 grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Angie Reeves, and two brothers, J. E. and Edward Reeves.
His entire life was spent near Chariton except for two years spent near Pontiac, Mich., and one year in Cleveland, Ohio.
He expressed his firm belief by the righteous way he lived. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be sadly missed by his devoted wife and children, grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He had been in failing health for the past year with leakage of the heart. He bore his sufferings with great fortitude and was not one who complained.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. A. P. Landgraf, of the Presbyterian church, were held in Chariton Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the Miley funeral home, and burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
