6TH ARK INF CSA - Columbia Guards

Served as Sargent and Wagon Master for the 6th Arkansas Infantry. He joined 26 July 1861 when he was 47 years old, which is very amazing because campaigning was tough on younger men. From the records it seems he transferred from the Arkansas State Militia to Confederate service in the 6th Infantry. He received a discharge from the CSA on 27 November 1861. About a year later he joined the 6th Texas Infantry Regiment, Confederate States Army when his brother and nephew arrived with the 6th Texas at Arkansas Post. Information provided by Roger Collins 8/16/2016.
