Alphonse J. Heitkamp, 68, of 413 Willow St., St. Henry, died Dec . 29 at his residence of heart failure. He was born Feb. 8, 1914 in Maria Stein, the son of Bernard and Catherine (Gehle) Heitkamp. On Oct. 19, 1940 he was married to Edna Nieberding, who survives. Also surviving are five children, Mrs. Bennett (Patricia) Schmidt, Celina; Larry, St. Marys; Dennis, St. Henry; Gary, Youngstown; and David, Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Raymond Heitkamp, St. Henry; and Melvin Heitkamp, Fort Recovery; six sisters Mrs. Mary Everman, St. Henry; Mrs. Lawrence (Elizabeth) Bruggeman, Coldwater; Mrs. Arnold (Rose) Schoen, Fort Recovery; Bernadette Heitkamp and Mrs. Richard (Cecelia) Kuntz, both of Dayton; and Mrs. William (Rita) Post, St. Marys; nine grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased. A retired employee of Chickasaw Machine Co., Mr. Heitkamp was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. (Obituary provided by Jim)
