Arthur was the son of Wells & Laura Palmer. He was a US Army veteran of WW1 having volunteered his services June 5, 1917. Arthur was member of the 110th Trench Mortar Battery stationed at Camp Doniphan Oklahoma. He spent some time in overseas duty and participated in the Battle of the Argonne Forest. During that engagement, he suffered the effects of mustard-gas-poisoning and died an ultimately death from complications of that poisoning. He never married. His grave is near the SE-corner of the cemetery. His parents and sister are buried near the NE-corner of the cemetery,
