Obituary, The Punxsutawney Spirit October 2001

Carol L [Louise] (Blose) [Sheesley] Sheridan*, 60, of Saxonburg and formerly of Punxsutawney RD 4, died Thursday, October 18-2001 at Oakmont Nursing Home in Oakmont.
Mrs Sheridan was born May 8-1941 in Punxsutawney, the daughter of O [Orwell] Scott and [Sarah] Ellen (Todd) Blose. She was married to Thomas J [John] Sheridan. [*Never married to each other.]
She enjoyed working with ceramics.
In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two sons; nine grandchildren; her mother, Ellen Blose; three sisters and nine brothers.
She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Samuel Mitchell III.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday at the Pifer Funeral Home of Punxsutawney. The Rev Kevin Douglas will officiate. Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Frostburg.
Friends will be received from 11 am-1 pm today at the funeral home.
Punxsutawney Spirit-October 19-2001.

*Contrary to her 2nd obituary, and her headstone, she was never married to Thomas John Sheridan, nor laid claim to the Sheridan name. He wanted to be married, but after three marriages, she didn't want to marry again. Which is a shame, since he was a very kind man and treated her well. They loved each other for well over 20 years. After her first obituary was printed in the paper as Carol L Blose Sheesley, Tom asked that it be re-submitted with the name of Sheridan. It was changed and printed at his request. However, Sheesley was her legal name. This information came from Carol's mother.

Carol was married to Samuel Glenn Jr, who was the father of her three sons.
There was second marriage to James Woodworth and lastly to Andrew Lott Sheesley.
Carol's son, Sam, and his daughter, Carrie Ann Mitchell, are buried beside her.
