She married Ervin Scheer on June 23, 1940, at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Connie Scheer of Grand Island; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; a sister, Lucille Hollmann of Columbus two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elton and Betty Scheer of St. Libory and Albert and Evelyn Kurz of Worms and a host of friends and relatives.
Lorena grew up and received her education in rural Columbus. Lorena and Ervin started farming in Merrick County north of Chapman. In 1947, they purchased a farm in Howard County southeast of St. Libory where they farmed until moving into Grand Island in 1988. Mr. Scheer died Nov. 11, 2007.
She enjoyed her flower garden, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Sandra K. Scheer.
