Jessie Ford, 87, of Santa Barbara, California died on November 1, 1982 at Goleta Valley Hospital in Santa Barbara. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Robert Conner officiating. Interment will be in Richwoods Cemetery. She was born on December 17, 1894 in Mount Pleasant to George and Ida Mae (Blythe) Carver. She was a retired cook. She married William Alvin Kirk on February 19, 1910 and they were the parents of five children. They later divorced. She married Omar Samuel Ford on June 15, 1929 in Kahoka, Missouri and they were the parents of a daughter. He died on February 13, 1944 in Mount Pleasant. She is survived by her daughters, Annona Jones of Santa Barbara, California, Betty Jane Brooks of Grants Pass, Oregon, Lorraine Barton of Libertyville, and Wanda Lucille Schramm of Fairfield; her sons, Allen Merrill Kirk of Mount Pleasant and Neal Alvin Kirk of Poway, California; her brothers, Frank Carver of Mount Pleasant and George Emil Carver of Chicago, Illinois; her sister, Ida Mae Eckwall of Fairfield; seventeen grandchildren; thirty four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
