Edwin John Felt was born in Ishpeming, Marquette County, Michigan, on Aug 19, 1876 to parents John Felt/Faltstrom (1849-1913), and Carolina Erickson (1842-1927), both born in Sweden.

Edwin was the fourth child in a family of six known children. His brothers and sisters were:
Ida Felt (dates unknown);
John A. Felt, born 1873;
Algot Felt, born 1875;
Pauline C. Felt-Fredrickson, born 1883;
and Hilma C. Felt-Felt, born 1887. Edwin and the first three siblings above were born in Michigan and the last two in Minnesota.

Edwin was raised in a life of farming, first in Michigan and then in Minnesota when his parents relocated to Pope County, Minnesota.

On Feb 6, 1905 in Hallock, Kittson County, Minnesota, Edwin married Eva Carolyn Olson, born in Minnesota (1884-1960). Eva was a daughter of Stephen Olson (1829-1891), and Ingrid Bachman (1840-1920), both born in Sweden.

Edwin and Eva lived for a short time in Teien, Kittson County, Minnesota, before moving and settling in Drayton, Pembina County, North Dakota.

This couple had seven children:
Irvin Alford Felt (1905-1988),
John E. Felt (1907-1978),
Irene Evelyn Felt-Hvidsten (1910-1972),
Dorothy Cordelia Felt-Anderson (1912-1991),
Jean Edith Felt (1914-1978),
Rodney Felt (1918-1918), and
Sheldon Harrison Felt (1920-1986).

On Jul 6, 1919, while celebrating his daughter's birthday, Edwin died tragically by drowning in the Two Rivers at Hallock, Kittson County, Minnesota. He and Eva are both buried in the Drayton Cemetery.
