In the early part of 1930, Irvin married Hilma Christina Olson (1902-1975), born in Minnesota. They moved for a short time to North Dakota and had two children - Irvin Arden Felt (1935-1974) and Linda Felt (1938-2001). They moved back to Minnesota by 1940.
After Hilma died in 1975, Irvin remarried in Sept 1976 to Helen Caroline Ackermann-Gustafson.
Irvin died on May 8, 1988, and is buried with his first wife Hilma in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
