A week ago last Wednesday, while gathering eggs, Stella Plunk jumped over a fence and ran a rusty nail in her foot. Later blood poisoning set in and Thursday night, December 1, 1898, after much suffering, she passed into the "fathomless beyond".

Stella was the youngest daughter of Thomas M. and Sarah Plunk, was born March 1883 in Monticello Township and has resided here all her life. She was bright and always a pleasant word for everyone. She leaves a father, step-mother, six brothers and one sister to mourn her loss. And the strange part of her death is that she died lacking half an hour just ten years after her mother's death.

The funeral services will be held at the family residence. Interment at the new cemetery.
