Thomas Albert "Doc" Plunk, 70, lifetime resident of this community died Sunday morning at Kirby Hospital. He had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church with burial in Monticello cemetery.

He was born June 14, 1873 near White Heath, the s/o Thomas M. and Sarah Plunk. He married Adeline Shaffer on September 25, 1895. He is survived by his wife, four sons: Dale, Tacoma WA; Charles, Alton IL; Jack, San Diego CA (in the naval hospital corps); and Frederick, Camp Reynolds PA. He also leaves two brothers: Robert, Mansfield; and Frank, Marion OH; and one sister, Harriett Estock, Los Angeles CA; and three grandchildren.

For many years he farmed east of Monticello on Ridge Road and upon retiring from farming he and his family moved to Monticello.
