SCOTTSDLE--Mrs. Harriet P. Estock, 90, of 3502 N. 63rd Place, died yesterday in a local hospital. There will be private services and burial.
She was born in Monticello, Ill., and came to the Phoenix area 35 years ago from Glendale, Calif. She was a housewife.
Survivors include one son, Robert of Scottsdale; one daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Hunter of Murdochville, Quebec, Canada, and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School.
[source: Newspapers.com]∼Harriet Plunk was born January 18, 1881 in Piatt Cty., Illinois, the daughter of Thomas Mylie Plunk and Sarah Cline. Harriet grew up the only girl in a family with 7 brothers - William Arthur, Thomas Albert, Charles Edward, John Hayes, Robert Lewis, James and Frank. She had a sister Jennie, who died of tetnus when Harriet was 13.
After her marriage, Harriet and her growing family moved around the country trying to find a climate that would benefit her husband Frederick. Illinois, where her daughters Pauline and Jacqueline were born was bad for Frederick's asthma, so they went to Multnomah, Or outside of Portland where Robert was born. Oregon was no better, so they moved onto Southern California. Frederick died while the family was in Glendale in 1927.
