Russell P. Jenkins, 79, of Rosewood, passed away on Jan. 12, 2010, at the University Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Shelby County, Ohio, to the late Laurel and Goldie (Curtis) Jackson.
Russell married Bessie (Penley) Jenkins on Oct. 19, 1952, and she survives.
He is survived by sons, Richard (Teresa) Jenkins and Jeffery (Tina) Jenkins; a daughter, Cathy (Mark) Brandyberry; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Kenny (Marilyn) Jenkins and Marvin (Kathy) Jenkins.
One sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
Russell proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Rosewood Church of Christ and Church of Christ in Christian Union Church in Urbana. He was also a life member of the St. Paris Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7645.
He was a retired salesman.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Rosedale Cemetery, in Conover, with full military honors, with the Rev. Peter Faville officiating. There will be no calling hours.
All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road.
