Funeral services were held Monday at Maeser 2nd Ward Chapel, for Mary Amelia Roberts Cloward of Vernal. Mrs. Cloward died at her home April 30, 1976 of a heart attack. Burial was in the Maeser Cemetery under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary.
Mrs. Cloward was born December 5, 1896 in Huntington, Utah to Orville C. Roberts and Persis Amy Young. She married William Edward Cloward, February 13, 1915 in Price, Utah.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Maeser 2nd Ward and a former Relief Society visiting teacher. She was also a teacher in the Primary.
Survivors include one son, four daughters: Mark Eugene, Bountiful; Mrs. Marvin (Gwendola) Slade, Mrs. Ivan (Lurean) Slaugh, both of Vernal; Mrs. Grant (Jerry) Brough, Bluebell, Utah; Mrs. Bert (Becky) Warner, Tucson, Arizona; one stepson, three stepdaughters, Ted, Vernal; Mrs. Alta Nelson, Ogden; Mrs. Marie Carrol, Reno and Mrs. Jim (Mildred) McCarty, Phoenix; 34 grandchildren and 95 great-grandchildren, two brothers, five sisters, Claude Hawthorn, Nevada; Gerald, Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Dan (Virginia) Stevens, Bigfoel, Montana; Effie Roberts, Montrose, California; Mrs. Bill (Frankie) Burges, American Falls, Idaho; Cora Smith, Bluewater, New Mexico; Mrs. Wilma Haskett, Pocatello.
The family prayer was given by Dale Slade. The invocation was by Brent Anderson. Musical selections were sung by Danna Dee Smith and Dorothy Peltier. Benediction was pronounced by Ivan Slaugh. Pallbearers were: Tommy Cloward, Guy Hansen, Milo Slaugh, DeLeon Slade, Dean Dow and Steven Sawyer.
