Funeral services for Lawrence Walter Janczak, 76, of Rosenberg will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. The Rev. Father Dan Warden will officiate the services. Interment will follow at West Gethsemane Cemetery on Highway 36 in Rosenberg. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4 with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., FM 2218 at Highway 59 in Rosenberg. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Rodney Janczak, Tommy Janczak, Kenneth Sopchak, Michael Kubeczka, Ronald Shupak, and Edwin Shupak Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Janczak and Rodney Blinka.

Lawrence was born Feb. 7, 1926 in Needville to Alexander Janczak and Mary Borowicz Janczak, and he passed away on Nov. 2, 2002 after a lengthy illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Mary Janczak; two brothers, Anton Janczak and Theodore Janczak and three sisters, Hester Vysocky, Regina Dobsky and Verna Kubeczka.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gladys Slovak Janczak of Rosenberg; his children, Linda Jamail and her husband, Allan, of Houston and Jerry Janczak of Rosenberg; brother Steven Janczak and his wife, Gladys; sister Bessie Janacek and her husband, Vic; sisters-in-law Lillian Janczak, Angela Janczak, Lillie Mae Shupak, and Geraldine Braswell; brother-in law Edwin Slovak and his wife, Kathleen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawrence married Gladys on Feb. 11, 1956. He worked at WKM in Missouri City for 32 years, all the while being known for his beautiful, abundant garden that he shared with his family and friends. Upon retiring, he continued to enjoy his hobbies of fishing, watching sports and old westerns, and especially his gardening. Lawrence's smile and wonderful sense of humor will be truly missed by his many family and friends.

Memorial gifts may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church Vision 2011 in his name. Services are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, (281) 341-8800.
