William F. sic McConkey, 71, retired Jefferson township farmer, died Monday morning at 6 o'clock at the home of his son, Thomas E. McConkey, North Eighth street and Edgeworth avenue. He had been ill since Saturday night and death was believed to have been caused by a paralytic stroke.
Born in Jefferson township on Feb. 6, 1868, the deceased was twice married. His first wife, Mrs. Almeda Cramblett McConkey, died in 1927 and he was later married to Miss Ollie Grindstaff, who survives. Six children were born to the first union.
In addition to his widow the following children survive: Mrs. Nettie Bell, Kimbolton R.D. 1; Thomas E., at whose home he died; James A., Cambridge R.D. 3; Mrs. Margaret Miller, Kimbolton, Kimbolton R.D. 1; Mrs. Hazel Moose, Cambridge. One sister, Mrs. Belle Cromizer, Newcomerstown, 34 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. One daughter is deceased.
The body was removed to the Stevens & McCracken funeral home, South Eighth street.
