EMIL MOHR
Emil Mohr, son of Jacob and Barbara Mohr, was born July 25, 1883 at Stahl, Russia, and died at Republic County hospital March 19.
He came to the United States in 1902 and was united in marriage to Katherine Margaret Strah (sic) September 3, 1904. To this union twelve children were born.
They came to the Chester community in 1911 where he was employed by the C.B.&Q. railroad until his retirement in 1948. He was a member of the United Methodist church (sic).
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two sons and two daughters.
Survivors are his wife, Katherine; five sons, Ed of Chester, Don of Las Vegas, Nev., George of Los Angeles, Earl of Houston, Tex., Carl of McCook, Neb.; three daughters, Mary Saint of Union City, Calif., Birdene Shank of Kearns, Utah, Arlene Baloun of Belleville; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Monday, March 23, 3 p.m. at the United Methodist church (sic), in Chester conducted by the Rev. Marlon Loftis. Interment was in the Chester cemetery (sic).
