In 1837, Octavius Augustus Seagram and his wife, Amelia {Stiles} Seagram emmigrated to Upper Canada from Wiltshire, England. They purchased two farms and a tavern in Fisher Mills, near Hespeler (now a community of Cambridge, Ontario)

Mother of Edward Frowde Seagram and Joseph Emm Seagram (1841-1919), founder of Seagram Distillers (Waterloo, Ontario)

Widowed at 34 with two young sons, Amelia married secondly to John Barbour (the younger), a cabinet maker, carpenter and upholsterer from Scotland

* Amelia Barbour [Hood}, 1 Mar 1852 - 1927
