J. 0. Pounders, aged 71, of McGehee, died Sunday. He was a Methodist.
Mr. Pounders is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Mew Pounders of McGehee; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Abernathy of Panorama City, Calif., Mrs. Melba Strickland of
Monticello, Mrs. Clara Crockett of Varner and Mrs. Peggy Carrington of Michigan, three
brothers, Alfred Pounders of New Jersey, Woodrow Pounders of New Mexico and Hollis
Pounders of Lake Charles, La. three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Green of England, Mrs. Ruby
Sanderson of Houston, Mrs. Eva Queen of San Antonio; his mother, Mrs. Stella Pounders of Star City; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2p.m. Tuesday at Dyer Funeral Chapel in McGehee. Burial was in Pleasant Springs Cemetery in Coleman, Drew County, Arkansas.
