James A. Pounders Dies at Star City
James Alfred Pounders, 83 year old resident of Star City, Died at his home early Satruday morning. Mr. Pounders was born Oct. 27, 1873 in Louisiana, and married the former Stella McCoy, in October of 1909, in Warren.

In Addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W. G. Green of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Bill Sanderson of Houston, and Mrs. John Green, of England, four sons, Otto of Dumas, Alfred of Newark, N.J., Woodrow of Alburquerque, N.M. and Hollis of Lake Charles, La, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Ferguson of Dumas, and Mrs. Sadie Eastham of Pine Bluff.

He had 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today, at the Mountain Home Methodist Church, near Star City, with the Rev. Osborne White, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. The Reverend Mr. White will be assisted by the Rev. Melvin Rice.

Paulbearers will be the follwing nephews of Mr. Pounders: Alvie, E. C., Dewey and Forest Freeman, Willie Joe Boren, Clyde Ferguson and Clifton Ferguson.
Buie Funeral Home will handle arrangements.

Right hand had three fingers missing. Sawmill accident in Warren Saw Mill.
