Born April 24, 1949 in Lancaster, Mr. Gandy was a son of Carl Gandy and the late Viola Ray Gandy. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where he coached the softball team. He also was a coach with the Lancaster Dixie Youth Baseball. Mr. Gandy was retired from Grace Fabrication.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gandy will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Robinson and the Rev. Todd Gandy officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Lori Horton Gandy; two sons, Charles Jason "Jay" Gandy and Mike Gandy and wife Paula, all of Lancaster; a daughter, Megan Blackmon of Lancaster; his father and step-mother, Carl and Varnetta Ray Gandy of Lancaster; two brothers, Ronnie Gandy and wife Linda and Wayne Gandy of Lancaster; a sister, Debbie Lucas and husband Maxie of Lancaster; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westside Baptist Church, 2066 Airport Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2503 Meadow Plaza Drive, Lancaster.
