Nancy Jane Holman was born 11 April 1846 in Warren Co., KY, the daughter of John William Holman and Elizabeth Settle. She married first James William Totty, on 15 October 1863 in Warren Co., KY. They had seven children. He died around October 1889. She married second James Henry Pedigo, on 22 March 1891 in Greensburg, Kiowa Co., KS. Nancy died 15 October, 1893 in Greensburg, and is buried in the Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, KS.

Obituary from the Kiowa County [Kansas] Signal, Greensburg, KS, October 20, 1893, p. 1:
Died, at their home in Garfield township. Mrs. Henry Pedigo, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Walcher. A large concourse followed her remains to their last resting place in Fairview cemetery. Sympathy is extended to the sorrowing husband and family.
