Wilbert "Wimp" Adank of Eugene died at the age of 83 on Jan. 2. He died of age-related causes. Burial was at Lane Memorial Gardens.

Wimp was born Waumandee, Wis., to Daniel and Emma Servais Adank on July 9, 1928

He and Alice Marie Nielsen were married in Junction City on June 29, 1952.

Wimp served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. He also served after the war in Japan.

Wimp was employed as a car loader, grader and tally man for various lumber mills. He eventually retired from Swanson's Lumber Mill in Noti.

Survivors included his wife and two sisters, Margaret Van Devender of Eugene and Armilla Grubbs of Tomahawk, Wis.
